Your Legacy

I remember the duck and cover drills in school in the fifties.  The threat of the Soviet Communists and their nuclear bombs was with us kids all of the time.  We understood that our arsenal would obliterate much of their world about the same time that ours went up in a bright cloud.

Life Magazine printed photographs of the Soviet Union after its collapse.  It showed the dismal existence of the people.  The workers lived in cramped apartments under oppressive rules.  Lines of people snaked out the doors of businesses selling scarce food or clothing.  The failings of socialism, compared to the prosperity of capitalism, was unmistakable.

And now your tribe's progressive policies threaten to take us into a similar "Twilight Zone" as you "fundamentally change America."  If successful, your time of government will yield a legacy of burdensome taxes, unimaginable shortages of goods and services and tyrannical regulations.

The photo of the fallen Statue of Liberty from one of the "Planet of the Apes" films illustrates the fruit of your progressive policies.  It illustrates the legacy that you and your communist friends will leave.  It represents the enslavement and death of the people under Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, and the European and South American reds.

It may be that Pelosi and Bishop, Reid and Killibrand and Schumer harbored idealistic goals of peace, equality and justice.  If so, the group has been eclipsed by Obama's associates – Emanuel, Axelrod, Stern, Jones, Dunn, Bloom, Ayers and the rest of the Fifth Column roaches that scurry in the darkness and flee when the lights are turned on.

We've seen this administration's raw use of political power – bribes, thugs, silencing of opposition and control of the media.  The next step is the erosion of the Constitution and the violation of the rights contained therein.  The legacy of this administration, unless things change radically, will be that of enslavement of a once-proud and independent people and hunger, sickness and despair.

"The Constitution is not neutral.  It was designed to take the government off the backs of people."
William O. Douglas
